Here's a first look at Mod 14 which releases on PC June 26th, so look for it around August/September on console.

First venture was to check on some of the new modifications (more on these later)

As you can see in the area I have highlighted, you will now be able to easily share AD and Companion Upgrade Tokens

Next up, let's get to Barovia

Opening quest.

Upon completing the opening quest, i was gifted Vistani Rewards

Appears that this stuff is equivalent to things you may already have, with the exception of the neck and waist pieces which are not artifact equipment. And if you look closely, you'll notice the enchantment slots are already filled. Not sure if this is a "Preview Server" thing or not. Only time will tell.

Campaign Details

New campaign currencies, Omens and Barovian Coins. Omens are the currency used to progress through the campaign. Barovian Coins are used to buy things in the campaign store (more on that later).

Heroic encounter rewards

This is a Tier 1 reward, notice what I have highlighted. Seals of the Brave. Haven't found anywhere in Barovia to spend them, but at least it looks as though there will be another way to acquire them.

Random Queues are getting an update. No more Skirmish Queue, and the Dungeon Queue is being split into four levels. Skirmishes didn't go away, they are grouped into one of the four levels as you will see in the following screenshots. Rewards are also changing.

Leveling Queue
Image
8,000 AD and 60 Seals of the Brave. Not sure that I believe they are going to start giving out Seals of the Brave for a leveling dungeon, but it's hard to get a random run on the preview server so I cannot either confirm or deny. The AD bonus is now a first-run account-wide bonus. Subsequent runs by any of your characters will only get you 1,000 AD.

Much like other recent campaign stores you will need to advance in the campaign to unlock items in the store. As I have yet to advance very far in the campaign, I can't provide the details yet but I can show you what will be available.

Salvaged Gear Pack

Unless you think your luck is good enough to pull a 510 item I don't see this as being a good purchase.

Blood Raven Pendant

Carcanet of the Dead

Blood Raven Ribbons

Lacings of the Dead

100 Barovian Coins

Once you finish the campaign and start building up an abundance of Omens this may be something to buy.

My Trip to Barovia -- New Hunt Mechanic, Mod14 Preview

We'll take a little break from the Seal Vendor to show you the new hunt mechanic. You will meet Youri Vadu outside Madam Eva's tent and he provides you with some information regarding the hunt.

Image

This is a video that will show you the new hunt mechanic for Mod14. A Wanted Poster is needed to enter Madam Eva's tent. Wanted Posters are either given to you as part of a quest, or earned as drops from random enemies or from completing a hunt.

Show your Wanted Poster to Madam Eva, she will pull three Tarokka cards that give you details describing the areas where the hunt mark can be found. From those details you need to determine where to go. You can add Tarokka cards from your deck to modify the hunt and potentially earn prizes. You can choose to start the hunt or leave without starting the hunt. If you choose to leave, you will lose the Wanted Poster you have shown to Madam Eva.

Once you start the hunt, you have 20 minutes to finish it, unless you have modified the time with a Tarokka card. Determine where on the map you need to go for the first location. This hunt took me to the Village of Barovia. Once you find the hunt mark you will battle it until you take a third of its health and it runs away to the next location. Determine where on the map you need to go for the second location. This hunt lead me to the Fell Bridge. Again you will battle the hunt mark until you take another third of its health and it runs away to the last location. Determine where on the map the third location is and head there. Of course, I picked wrong. That was a waste of roughly two and half minutes. Choose carefully.

Once you defeat the hunt mark you will be given your rewards and an exit will appear. Currently the reward cache isn't working properly, but I'm still getting the rewards.

So there you have it. That was a Tier 1 hunt. Yes I can do it myself, but it does take a good bit of the twenty minutes alotted at my 11,000 or so item level. The Wanted Poster I received from the hunt is for a Tier 2 hunt mark. I don't think I will attempt this one unless I can get at least others to group up with me.
