Re: Mod16: Classes Intro: Feats

The feats tab has been removed and the feats trees no longer exist. Instead, we will have what, in essence, can only be described as Feat Boons. Five pairs of feats where you can choose one from each pair. This reduces our choices, and their claim of more unique choices can only happen if all 32 combinations are equally viable in game play.

Re: Mod16: Classes Intro: Paragon Paths

We'll still have two Paragon Paths, but they will be more defined now. The roles the classes have will also be more defined.

The removal of Power Points means all of our Feats and Powers will be at full strength when they become available as we are leveling.

Re: Mod16: Classes Intro: Tanking and Healing

Post by  Michael DarkAngel  »  Sun Feb 24, 2019 2:47 pm

Healing: Paladins and Clerics will now use Divinity to cast healing spells, Warlocks use their Soul Essence to heal. New ways of gaining Divinity and Soul Essence. Need more information to determine what all is going on here. It will be interesting to see where this goes, as healing isn't much of a factor in the game currently. Everyone can either tank or self-heal through most battles, so much so the random one-shots were likely introduced to give us a "challenge".

Tanking: Barbarians, Fighters, Paladins will all have a new guard mechanic that will act as a shield equal to their Hit Points. When using guard, damage will be removed from the shield, once the shield is depleted the damage will be dealt directly to the player. So, once depleted is that it for our shield for that battle? Will it recharge in battle, much the way Stamina, Guard, and Determination do now? Will Barbarians actually use shields? This one I can't see happening, it's more likely the shield mechanic will be tied to some sort of rage mechanic.
